The Shawshank Redemption is the #1 highest ranked film in the world on the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) as well as in many other lists. It was a great pleasure having Mr. Darabont here.
Note: we will be posting the video of his talk here soon.
Best known for teaming up with Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth to co-produce Sony/Lionsgate’s “Hostel” franchise, Dan has made a 180-degree turn and recently completed a heartwarming comedy “for anyone who has ever been in danger… of growing up.” Set amidst the beauty of Northern Minnesota’s Boundary Waters and touched by the magic of the Aurora Borealis, “The Rainbow Tribe” is a delightful film for the entire family that redefines the feel-good genre!
Inspired by a true story, “The Rainbow Tribe” follows the hilarious antics of six ragtag ten-year-olds at Camp Thunderhawk for Boys and their beloved camp counselor “Chief” (David James Elliott of “JAG”).
Directed by talented newcomer Chris Watson, the film also stars Grayson Russell (“Talladega Nights”), Ed Quinn (“Eureka,” “True Blood”), Noah Munck (“iCarly”), Stephen Tobolowsky (“Wild Hogs,” “Memento,” “Groundhog Day”), Rebecca Mader (“Lost”), Renée Taylor (“The Nanny”), Julie Ann Emery (“Hitch”), Gabriel Mann (“Bourne” series, “Mad Men”) and Max Burkholder (“Daddy Day Care,” “Grey’s Anatomy”).
Expected to hit cinemas later this year, “The Rainbow Tribe” has already won Best Picture at the popular Feel Good Film Festival in Hollywood, which focuses on films with happy endings, that make audiences laugh, and that capture the beauty of our world.
